Alwar: Rajasthan’s Alwar district reported a serious crime on Wednesday after a 69-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from her home, assaulted, and looted by unidentified men.
The victim, Tulsa Devi, was later found unconscious in a forest area nearly 16 kilometres away. She suffered injuries to her face and legs and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Malakhera.
Police said the incident took place around 1 am when a group of assailants arrived in a vehicle, gagged the woman, and forcibly took her away while the family was asleep.
The matter came to light when her daughter-in-law sensed unusual activity, but by then the accused had already fled. The family immediately informed police and, along with locals, conducted a search operation for nearly three hours before locating her.
Jewellery worth around ₹8 lakh was reportedly stolen, including silver anklets, gold ornaments, and other valuables.
Police have registered a case and launched a probe to identify and arrest those involved.
