UPSC CSE 2025 Topper Anuj Agnihotri Reacts: ‘My Third Attempt, Still Processing the Result’

New Delhi, March 6: Anuj Agnihotri, who secured the top rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, said he was still absorbing the news shortly after the results were announced.

Speaking soon after the declaration of the merit list, Agnihotri said he had only just been informed about his success and was still trying to process the moment. The achievement came in his third attempt at the civil services examination.

Agnihotri completed his medical studies at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur in 2023 and is currently serving as a probationer in the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services (DANICS).

Coming from a family based in Rajasthan, his father works at the Rawatbhata Nuclear Power Plant.

The second and third ranks in the examination were secured by Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull respectively.

According to the Union Public Service Commission, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various central services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).

The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually in three stages—preliminary examination, main examination, and the personality test—to select officers for key administrative roles in the country. The 2025 mains examination was held between August 22 and August 31.

The commission also noted that the candidature of 348 candidates has been kept provisional pending verification of documents and eligibility conditions.
