Gupta’s appointment comes as the BJP returns to power in Delhi after 27 years, securing 48 seats in the 70-member Assembly. Known for his articulate speeches and firm stance on governance issues, Gupta is expected to play a pivotal role in maintaining order and decorum during legislative sessions. His tenure as Speaker will involve ensuring fair discussions, promoting transparency, and upholding democratic values within the Assembly.

His political journey has been marked by his proactive approach to addressing public concerns and advocating for policy reforms. As Speaker, he aims to create an environment where both the ruling party and the opposition can engage in meaningful dialogue to address the city’s challenges.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place at the Delhi Assembly complex, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, senior BJP leaders, and other dignitaries in attendance. The event will mark the beginning of a new legislative term, with the BJP government focusing on delivering its promises and addressing key issues such as infrastructure development, law and order, and social welfare programs.
