Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Orders Pothole-Free Roads Within a Month After Monsoon

Dehradun July 18 2024 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed state officials to ensure that all roads are made pothole-free within a month following the end of the monsoon season. During a review meeting at his residence on Thursday, CM Dhami emphasized the need for expediting road construction and maintenance work while ensuring high standards of quality.

In addition to road repairs, CM Dhami instructed officials to prioritize the cleanliness of ghats ahead of the upcoming ‘Kanwar’ fair, and to conduct construction in mountainous areas in line with their carrying capacity. He also called for improved parking facilities at tourist destinations by identifying and utilizing vacant spaces.

The Chief Minister highlighted the need for better maintenance of government guest houses, ensuring they are in good condition and equipped with improved facilities for guests. He also directed officials to focus on increasing GST collection and preventing GST theft, suggesting the initiation of a campaign if necessary. CM Dhami stressed the importance of making business owners aware of GST registration requirements and promoting digital payments.

On Wednesday, CM Dhami had already issued guidelines to senior officials regarding waterlogging issues, cleanliness, and the prevention of diseases such as dengue and malaria, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s office.
