Delhi Education Minister Atishi Engages with School Principals to Enhance Learning Strategies

New Delhi July 18 2024 : Delhi Education Minister Atishi convened a crucial meeting with over 200 principals from Delhi Government and government-aided schools on July 18, 2024, at Veer Savarkar Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Kalkaji. The session aimed at discussing and refining teaching strategies and setting ambitious learning goals for the current academic year.

Minister Atishi emphasized the pivotal role of principals, describing them as leaders who drive significant changes in students’ lives beyond mere administrative duties. She commended the principals for their innovative approaches in increasing student attendance, enhancing academic results through individualized attention, fostering a positive school environment, and actively involving parents in the educational process.

“Principals are not just administrators but school leaders who bring about real change at the grassroots level. The transformation of a school mirrors the leadership of its principal,” Atishi stated. She acknowledged the challenges faced by principals, particularly in schools serving children from difficult circumstances, many of whom are first-generation learners.

Highlighting the progress made over the past decade, Atishi noted that Delhi Government schools have significantly improved in infrastructure and educational quality, becoming some of the best in the country. She set a new goal for these schools: to rank among the top schools globally.

To achieve this objective, Atishi stressed the importance of providing quality education to every student and addressing individual learning needs. She also instructed officials to promptly address any teacher shortages, ensuring that no compromises are made regarding the quality of education.

The meeting underscored the commitment of the Kejriwal Government to continuously elevate educational standards and support the dedicated efforts of school principals in delivering exceptional learning experiences.
