Former English cricketer David Lloyd has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to stop scheduling India and Pakistan in the same group in major events. Although India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since early 2013, the two teams have faced each other in every ICC event over the last 10 years. This trend began with the 2013 Champions Trophy and has continued through all editions of the 50-over World Cup, the T20 World Cup, and the Champions Trophy. While acknowledging that India vs. Pakistan matches are highly anticipated by fans, Lloyd believes these fixtures should not be pre-arranged for ICC events.
