Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has moved the High Court to stay all proceedings of the Justice L. Narasimha Reddy Commission. The commission was established to inquire into Power Purchase Agreements made by the previous government and the construction of thermal power plants at Manuguru and Damaracherla.
Mr. Rao has filed a writ petition challenging the constitution of the commission. The state government had set up this one-man commission, led by retired High Court judge L. Narasimha Reddy, to conduct a judicial inquiry into the decisions taken by the BRS government. These decisions include power purchases from Chhattisgarh by DISCOMS and the construction of the Bhadradri Thermal Power Plant at Manuguru and the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant at Damaracherla by TS GENCO.
