New Delhi : India and Armenia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of medical products regulation. The agreement was signed in the presence of India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Delhi. This MoU aims to enhance collaboration in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of medical products in both countries.
The two ministers also explored avenues for cooperation in digital technologies and pharmaceuticals. They reviewed the entire spectrum of growing bilateral relations between India and Armenia, covering political exchanges, trade, economics, connectivity, education, culture, and people-to-people interactions. The strengthening of these ties is seen as a step towards deepening mutual understanding and fostering strategic partnerships across various sectors.
In addition to the medical products regulation MoU, another agreement was signed between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. This MoU focuses on cooperation in diplomatic training and capacity-building initiatives, reinforcing efforts to enhance knowledge-sharing and professional exchanges between the two nations.
During their meeting, Dr. Jaishankar emphasized that India’s ties with Armenia are deeply rooted in history and continue to grow stronger. He noted that political cooperation between the two countries remains robust, with increasing bilateral trade and defence collaborations. The ministers also exchanged views on regional and global matters of shared interest, reinforcing their commitment to working together on international platforms.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed satisfaction with the discussions, highlighting the significant progress made in India-Armenia relations. He described the talks as fruitful and underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties, connectivity, and technological collaboration. Mirzoyan also outlined potential areas for deepening the partnership, with a focus on enhancing business interactions and cultural exchanges.
The signing of these MoUs reflects the growing strategic engagement between India and Armenia. Both countries are keen on expanding their economic and diplomatic ties, leveraging their strengths to build a more comprehensive partnership. The agreements signify a step forward in regulatory cooperation, fostering trade and investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector while also promoting institutional collaboration in diplomacy.
