PM Modi Asserts Government’s Agenda Ahead of Monsoon Session, Challenges Opposition

New Delhi , July 22 2024 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media today, marking the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, where he emphasized the significance of his government’s upcoming initiatives and the role of the Union Budget in shaping India’s future.

PM Modi highlighted that the first budget of his government’s third term will set the course for the next five years and lay a robust foundation for “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He expressed confidence in delivering on the promises made to the people and underscored the importance of this budget in realizing the aspirations of the nation.

Acknowledging the start of Sawan, PM Modi extended his greetings to the nation, urging for a positive and productive parliamentary session.

Regarding the role of the Opposition, PM Modi called for unity beyond party lines, urging MPs to focus on national interests until the 2029 general elections. He emphasized the need for collective dedication towards empowering farmers, youth, and the overall development of the country.

PM Modi also criticized the Opposition for attempting to silence the government’s voice during the previous parliamentary session, asserting that Parliament belongs to the nation and not any particular party.

The Monsoon Session, which began today, will run until August 12, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman set to present the Union Budget on Tuesday. This session is expected to be pivotal in shaping legislative priorities and addressing critical issues facing the nation.

The Prime Minister’s statements set the stage for a session focused on governance, policy initiatives, and national development, amidst ongoing political discourse and challenges in the parliamentary arena.
