TAMIL NADU: DMK president M.K. Stalin on Tuesday questioned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s silence on the law and order situation in the state, asking when the Chief Minister would come forward to explain the steps being taken to prevent criminal activities.
Stalin said that Vijay, who had earlier made “tall claims about governance,” should clarify the government’s approach towards maintaining public safety and ensuring that criminals do not operate without fear of the law.
The DMK leader raised concerns over the need for stronger measures to control crime and questioned the Chief Minister’s response to incidents affecting people’s sense of security. He stated that the government must communicate clearly with the public about the actions being taken to address such issues.
Stalin’s remarks come amid a political exchange between the ruling establishment and opposition parties over governance-related matters in Tamil Nadu. He urged the Chief Minister to break what he described as a period of silence and provide answers regarding the administration’s efforts on law and order.
The comments have added to the ongoing political discussions in the state, with opposition leaders continuing to question the government’s handling of key public concerns.
