Amit Shah Inaugurates ₹146 Crore Infrastructure Projects in Ahmedabad, Highlights Modi Government’s Development Milestones

Ahmedabad, March 13, 2025: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth ₹146 crore in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The projects, aimed at improving infrastructure, connectivity, and public convenience, mark another significant step in India’s rapid growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Major Infrastructure Projects Announced

During the event, Shri Amit Shah announced key projects, including:

  • A ₹60 crore railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad-Viramgam railway track at Sanand-Chekhla-Kadi Road, expected to ease daily commutes for local residents.
  • A ₹36.30 crore 4-lane bridge over the Narmada Canal on National Highway No. 147.
  • A ₹45 crore flyover bridge on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway at Chharodi.

Shri Shah emphasized that these projects will boost connectivity, create employment opportunities, and support local businesses in four assembly constituencies of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. He also praised Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel for executing multiple development projects worth thousands of crores across the state.

Transforming Healthcare in Gujarat

Shri Amit Shah further announced the construction of a state-of-the-art 500-bed hospital in Sanand, which will remain operational 24/7 for the benefit of residents of Sanand and Bavla talukas. Additionally, a 300-bed government hospital is being built in Kalol Taluka, ensuring access to modern healthcare facilities for all.

India’s Rapid Infrastructure Growth Under PM Modi

Highlighting the unprecedented development in India over the last decade, Shri Amit Shah stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership:

  • India now has the world’s second-largest road network, third-largest metro rail network, and fourth-largest rail network.
  • Four-lane highways have increased by 2.5 times, with 36.5 km of highways being built daily.
  • The number of airports in India has risen to 157.
  • 136 Vande Bharat trains are now operational.
  • 97% of India’s broad-gauge railway network has been electrified.

He also highlighted Gujarat’s key infrastructure projects, including the world’s largest green energy park in Kutch, Asia’s largest green city Dholera, and the Surat-Chennai Expressway, India’s second-longest highway.

Shri Amit Shah concluded by stating that in just 10 years, the Modi government has achieved more development than all previous governments combined over 70 years, reaffirming its commitment to nation-building and infrastructure growth.
