New Delhi, March 13, 2025 : In a commendable humanitarian effort, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the South West District successfully traced and reunited two missing minors—a 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl—with their families under ‘Operation Milap’.
On February 10, 2025, a complaint was filed at PS Khyala regarding the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl, “R”. Despite immediate efforts by police personnel, no clues were found.
Similarly, on March 11, 2025, another case of a missing 13-year-old boy, “A”, was reported at PS Dwarka South. The police launched a search operation, but initial attempts did not yield any results.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, a dedicated team led by Inspector Balbir Singh (I/C AHTU/SWD), along with W/HC Sharmila and W/Ct. Seema, was formed to intensify search efforts. The team engaged with the families, friends, and local sources, while also circulating photographs of the missing children across multiple platforms, institutions, and law enforcement agencies.
After tireless efforts, the missing boy was found near Dada Dev Mandir in Dwarka Sector-7, and the missing girl was located in the New Delhi Railway Station area on March 11, 2025. Following necessary legal procedures, both children were safely handed over to their families.
The AHTU’s relentless efforts and the cooperation of the community played a crucial role in ensuring the safe return of the children. The success of ‘Operation Milap’ once again highlights the commitment of Delhi Police to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and reuniting missing children with their loved ones.
