The Impressive TimesRohtak, Feb 8, 2025: Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta has officially assumed charge as the Registrar of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. His appointment was approved by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. Welcoming Dr. Gupta to his new role, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajvir Singh expressed confidence in his leadership and administrative capabilities, stating that his vast experience would significantly contribute to the university’s progress.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Gupta thanked the Governor, Chief Minister, and Vice-Chancellor for entrusting him with this responsibility. “I am committed to working diligently to meet the expectations of the authorities and ensuring MDU scales new heights in academics and research,” he stated.
Dr. Gupta brings over 34 years of academic and administrative experience to his new role. He previously served as the Principal of Aggarwal PG College, Ballabhgarh, from August 24, 2009, to May 2, 2024. A doctorate in Physics, he has made significant contributions to research, with an impressive record of 341 publications, including 92 in reputed national and international journals. He has actively participated in 116 national and international conferences and seminars, chairing over 46 technical sessions.
Recognized for his contributions to education, Dr. Gupta has been honored three times by the Governor of Haryana and the Vice-Chancellor of MDU Rohtak. His accolades include the Best Principal Award and the National Education Excellence Award.
Regarding reports of a suspension order issued against him by the management of Aggarwal College in April 2024, Dr. Gupta dismissed the allegations as baseless. “The claims of my suspension are completely false. I had taken Voluntary Retirement (VRS) from my position, and no allegations against me have ever been proven,” he clarified.
Supporting Dr. Gupta’s statement, Devender Gupta, president of the governing body of Aggarwal College, Ballabhgarh, also downplayed the controversy. He stated that the issue had become irrelevant and extended his best wishes to Dr. Gupta. “I am delighted to hear about his appointment as the Registrar of MDU Rohtak. He is a dedicated academician, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to him,” he said.
With his vast experience and commitment to excellence, Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta is expected to lead MDU Rohtak towards new academic and research milestones.
