Ayodhya does not break but unites: Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Releases Balbir Punj's book in DU

New Delhi, 13 January, 2024- Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Ayodhya does not break, rather Ayodhya unites. The Defense Minister was addressing as the chief guest at the Lohri, Makar Sankranti get-together and book release ceremony organized by the National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF) and Kitabwala at the Multipurpose Hall of University of Delhi. On this occasion, the book “Tryst with AYODHYA (Decolonization of India)” written by author Balbir Punj was also released by the chief guest. The guest of honour, DU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Singh said in his address, “We have to learn from Ram how to work in public interest”. On this occasion, the program was presided over by Advocate Alok Kumar, International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

The Union Defense Minister further said in his address that as soon as the name of Ram comes to mind, the opposite name of Ravana also comes to mind. Ravana was wealthier, stronger and more knowledgeable than Ram, but Ram is still worshipped. Because, Ram followed the limits in his life. Regarding the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, Rajnath Singh said that justice has been done to Ayodhya after 500 years. This will be a moment of extreme feeling of national self-respect when Ram Lalla will return to the grand temple. Discussing the book, written by Balbir Punj, he said that this book exposes the cultural heritage of Ayodhya and the vote bank game and appeasement politics related to that heritage. The Defense Minister said that these days many books have come out on Ayodhya and Ram. This shows that Ram is the consciousness of India. The Union Minister said that Ram is not just a king but a folk hero. Ram is a man of the era, he always remained bound by dignity, hence he is called Maryada Purushottam. This adjective was not given to any other god other than Ram. Therefore Ram belongs to everyone and Ram is in everyone. He said that everyone has their own Ram. Gandhi’s Ram is different and Lohia’s Ram is different. Ram is not bound by any ideology.

Rajnath Singh said that the temple of Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya will be a symbol of new India. This temple will also be the pinnacle of our Sanatan faith. He said that some people in this country call Ram imaginary. Ram they, Ram hain aur Ram rahenge. The truth is that India’s personality cannot be imagined without Ram. Today Ayodhya has got the place which it should have got immediately after independence on 15 August 1947. He said that when the idol of Ram Lalla was revealed on the night of 22-23 December 1949, its first witness was not a Hindu but a Muslim. Rajnath Singh said that Balbir Punj establishes through his book that the issue of Ram Janmabhoomi was never an issue of Hindu-Muslim conflict, but vote bank politics has made it so. Along with this, while discussing the achievements of the Indian Government, the Defense Minister said that the Indian economy reaching four trillion dollars in the last 10 years and becoming the fifth largest economy in the world is no small achievement.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh said in his address that one sees the same as one feels. Lord Ram is the life and soul of India. We should learn patience from Ram and we should also learn from the life of Ravana that even knowledge becomes harmful if a person sitting on a high position does not practice Dharma. The Vice Chancellor said that when a courageous writer writes the truth, a resolution is formed. We all will make Ram’s Bharat developed and powerful so that Bharat never needs such resolutions again. This is patriotism and this is the duty of the nation. Presiding over the program, Advocate Alok Kumar, International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, said that as soon as the faith of the Hindus of the world will rest in the idol of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024 at 12:20 pm, similarly in the hearts of all of us, Ram ji should come down.

Balbir Punj, the author of the book, while speaking as the keynote speaker, said that if Ram is removed from India, India will become another Afghanistan or Pakistan. We consider Ram as our ideal. Giving information about his book “Tryst with AYODHYA (Decolonization of India)”, he said that after 1947 there was no Hindu-Muslim dispute in the area of Ayodhya. The Muslims there wanted that a temple should be built there. Punj said that the only one person who did not want it was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He told that it took him only four months to write this book and many aspects related to Ayodhya and Ram have been included in it.
