Shimla, June 1 , 2024 : Approximately 32 per cent of 57.44 lakh voters in Himachal Pradesh cast their votes in the first four hours on Saturday in the seventh and final phase of election for choosing the 18th Lok Sabha. Polling began for four Lok Sabha and six bye election of assembly at 7 am and after two hours there was moderate to low turnout of over 14 percent in the state. According to Chief Electroral officers Manish Garag said that polling began in 7,992 polling stations including 369 critical in which around 57.44 lakh registered voters in the state are eligible for the polling. Tashigang world highest polling station have 62 voters at the height of 15526 ft. Polling began in mixed note in Lok Sabha election register around 14.36 pc and in Vidhan Sabha bye election 12.62 pc trun up. But till 11 am, there was improvement according to Election Comission In Shimla PC registered around 32.22 percent as against 15.28 pc turnout at 9 am. Hamirpur recorded 31.25 pc at 11 am as against 14.67 pc at 9 am. Mandi recorded 33.02 as against 13.81 pc at 9 am. While Kangra recorded 31.29 pc at 11 am as against 13.72 pc till 9 am earlier. In Lahaul Spiti district, it was 30.98 pc votes registered in four hours. By 9 am it was only 11.95 pc. In Gagret, at 11 am it was 29 pc, as against 13.18 pc in the first two hours. Sujanpur was 26.3 in four hours from its earlier 12.59 pc in two hours. Kutlehar was 31.9 pc at 11 am, improving on 14.05 pc at 9 am; Dharmshala was 27.3 pc at 11 am from its earlier 13.98 pc at 9 am and Barsar doubled to 22 per cent as against 11 at 9 am. Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh, Maneesh Garg voteed at the Mehli-4 62/84 polling station. 105 yrs of Payra Singh cast his vote at Hatnalah polling stations in Chamba district. According to Election Commission, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu voted at Nadaun, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri at Haroli in Una district, Former Chief minister PK Dhumal and his Union minister son Anurag Thakur along with entire family caste their votes at Sameerpur, Union Minister Shanta Kumar at Palampur, Public workers Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh at Rampur and BJP candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut at Bhamla village of Sarkaghat Mandi where her ancestral house is. In all the 62 candidates are in fray on four Lok Sabha and six assembly bye election.
