Faridabad, May 17: Former Cabinet Minister and sitting MLA of Ballabgarh, Pt. Moolchand Sharma, conducted a comprehensive inspection of ongoing sewer and drainage cleaning works across several key areas of his constituency on Friday. The inspection aimed to evaluate the current state of public infrastructure and ensure timely completion of essential monsoon preparedness activities.
The visit covered important and densely populated locations, including Sector 3, Tigaon Road, and Mohna Road, where Sharma closely examined the condition of existing drainage systems and sewer lines. He also reviewed the progress of road construction and repair work in these regions, with particular attention to areas that are prone to waterlogging during heavy rains.
In Sector 3, the MLA reviewed the ongoing construction of a major drain aimed at improving the stormwater drainage system. He engaged with engineers and officials on-site, stressing the importance of quality work and adherence to project timelines. Similarly, on Mohna Road—an arterial route of Ballabgarh—Sharma inspected the roadwork and instructed officials to speed up the process while maintaining construction standards. He expressed dissatisfaction over certain delays and directed the concerned departments to immediately mobilize additional resources, if necessary.
Addressing the media during the inspection, Pt. Sharma highlighted the growing urgency due to recent unseasonal rains and the forecast of an early monsoon. He warned that any laxity in pre-monsoon cleaning operations could lead to severe waterlogging and disruption of daily life in Ballabgarh. “It is crucial that all drains and sewer lines are thoroughly cleaned before the onset of the monsoon. Our goal is to ensure that no locality suffers due to avoidable flooding or sanitation issues,” he stated.
He further urged municipal officials to identify and resolve clogged or damaged sections of the drainage network, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Sharma emphasized that this is not just a matter of infrastructure but also of public health and safety.
Reaffirming his commitment to his constituents, Pt. Moolchand Sharma said that regular inspections and active governance are the keys to addressing civic issues effectively. “As a public representative, it is my duty to ensure that development reaches every corner of Ballabgarh and that people get relief, especially during challenging weather conditions,” he said.
Local residents appreciated Sharma’s proactive approach, expressing hope that timely action will mitigate waterlogging problems that have historically troubled several parts of the city during the monsoon.
