Gandhinagar, May 17, 2025: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, on Saturday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development works worth ₹708 crore in Gujarat’s capital, Gandhinagar. The event also included a benefit distribution ceremony under the Department of Posts. Addressing a large gathering, Amit Shah emphasized both developmental strides under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India’s growing strength on the global security front.

Shah highlighted how PM Modi’s vision has transformed India’s defense posture, shifting from a reactive approach to one of proactive retaliation. Reflecting on recent security developments, he spotlighted ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s bold and decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack. “The Indian Army destroyed terrorist training bases more than 100 km deep inside Pakistan,” he said, underlining the unprecedented nature of the mission.

He noted that this is the first time since independence that India has struck so deep into enemy territory to avenge acts of terror. “Under Modi ji’s leadership, our forces are no longer restrained by silence. They act swiftly, strategically, and powerfully,” he added.

Calling it a tribute to Indian culture, Amit Shah shared that the name ‘Operation Sindoor’ was chosen by PM Modi himself. “Sindoor symbolizes the dignity and strength of Indian women. By naming the mission after it, India has sent a cultural and emotional message to the world,” Shah said.

Recalling the Uri and Pulwama attacks, Shah explained how India’s responses—surgical and air strikes—have shifted the balance of fear. “Earlier, terrorist attacks went unanswered. But now, terrorists and their backers are shaken. Our army, navy, and air force have shown Pakistan what India is truly capable of,” he asserted.

He further revealed that India not only razed the terror headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, but also neutralized over 100 heavily armed militants. Attempts by Pakistan to retaliate were thwarted by India’s advanced air defense systems, which intercepted all incoming threats without a single missile or drone landing on Indian soil.

Shah also pointed out that the Indian Air Force targeted 15 Pakistani airbases, severely damaging their offensive capabilities. “The world is watching India’s military precision and political will with awe, and Pakistan is watching with fear,” he remarked.

As Gujarat celebrates fresh investments in infrastructure, Shah concluded his speech by saluting the bravery of India’s armed forces and reaffirming the government’s commitment to national security and development.
