New Delhi, March 21: In a major step toward strengthening India’s internal security ecosystem, Rashtriya Raksha University and the Sashastra Seema Bal have formalised a partnership to upgrade and accredit specialised training programmes for security personnel.
The agreement, signed at the SSB headquarters in the national capital, establishes a structured mechanism under which the university will grant academic recognition to courses conducted by SSB training institutions. Senior officials from both sides, including academic leaders and top SSB authorities, were present during the signing ceremony.

This collaboration is designed to connect classroom-based research in national security with the operational demands faced by border forces. By pooling expertise, infrastructure, and training resources, both institutions aim to create a more practical and skill-oriented learning environment for personnel.
Under the framework, the university will review existing SSB training modules, map them to academic credits, and help enhance course content to meet national educational standards. The initiative will also introduce uniform assessment systems to ensure consistency and quality across all accredited programmes.
Officials highlighted that the partnership will provide personnel access to advanced laboratories, field-based workshops, and technology-driven training modules. A recent course on smart border management has already demonstrated the potential of such collaboration in addressing modern security challenges.
Director General Sanjay Singhal expressed confidence that the initiative will play a key role in upgrading skills and preparing personnel for evolving threats. The focus will be on continuous learning through reskilling and upskilling efforts.
The university, established under the leadership of Narendra Modi and guided by Amit Shah, serves as a premier institution dedicated to national security education and research.
As part of the agreement, successful completion of accredited courses may lead to recognised qualifications ranging from certificates to postgraduate degrees, in line with national academic frameworks. A dedicated coordination unit will also be set up within SSB to ensure smooth execution and communication between both organisations.
The partnership is expected to modernise training practices, enhance career prospects for personnel, and contribute to building a more professional and future-ready security force aligned with India’s broader policy goals.
