As part of the Delhi Police Week celebrations being observed from 16th to 22nd February 2026, Delhi Police organised a Kavi Sammelan titled “काव्यांजलि” at the forecourt of the Red Fort on Friday evening, 20.02.2026. The cultural event was aimed at strengthening community outreach and fostering a spirit of unity, inclusiveness, and service.

Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi; Rachna Golchha, President, Police Families Welfare Society; senior officers and distinguished guests, Madhur Verma, IPS, Jt.CP/Central Range, stated that in a large metropolitan city like Delhi, meeting the expectations of the public in maintaining security and law and order is an important responsibility which is shouldered by Delhi Police with dedication and commitment.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, expressed gratitude to the distinguished poets for their participation and for making the event memorable. He extended greetings on the occasion of Delhi Police Week and remarked that the week serves as an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of Delhi Police personnel and to pay homage to the martyrs who made the sacrifice in the line of duty. He emphasized that it is also a time to reconnect with our roots and further strengthen the bond between the police and the public.


The CP Delhi urged citizens to foster a positive perception of the police, stating that the force draws strength from the trust and confidence of the public. He underscored that security is a shared responsibility of both the police and society, adding that the police are an integral part of society. He further stated that society’s cooperation is the force’s strength, it’s suggestions pave the way for further improvement and the trust of society in police is an asset.

The Kavi Sammelan highlighted the relentless dedication, commitment, and humane aspects of police personnel. An audience of around 500 attendees was enthralled by poetic renditions delivered by eminent poets, including Sh. Dinesh Raghuvanshi, Sarvesh Asthana, Anil Agrawanshi, Raj Kaushik, . Adesh Tyagi, Khushbu Sharma, along with Rajender Kalkal, ACP, and Ranjay Atrishya, ACP, Delhi Police.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Raja Banthia, IPS, DCP/North District.

The programme was also graced by the presence of senior officers of Delhi Police, including Rajesh Khurana, IPS, Spl. CP/P&FD; Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special CP/L&O (Zone–I); Madhup Tewari, IPS, Special CP/L&O (Zone–II); Surendra Kumar, Jt. CP/Crime;Sanjay Tyagi, IPS, Jt. CP/PRO; Anant Mittal, DCP/Central District; Sh. Vikram Porwal, DCP/Admn. (CP Sectt.) and Sumit Jha, IPS, Addl. DCP/North District.

Delhi Police is celebrating Police Week 2026 with great enthusiasm and commitment from 16th to 22nd February 2026. The week-long celebrations aim to showcase the glorious history, notable achievements, modernization initiatives, and citizen-centric policing efforts of Delhi Police, while further strengthening its bond with the community.
