Republic Day’s Unsung Hero: The Woman Who Chose to Be Hindustani

Choosing ‘Hindustani’ Over Inherited Identity

By Pawan Kumar Bansal

Gurugram- As India marks Republic Day, a moment to reflect on unity, equality and shared nationhood, some stories stand out not because they were meant to be noticed, but because they were quietly lived.

One such story is that of Raseshvari Hindustani, the first Indian woman to officially adopt Hindustani as her surname.

The decision was neither political nor symbolic. It did not arise from protest or personal grievance. It emerged from a simple inner knowing that identity, when freed from inherited labels, could unite rather than divide.

Born into a defence family and raised across several states of India, Raseshvari grew up with a lived sense of national belonging. Moving through different regions, languages and cultures, she encountered both India’s diversity and the invisible lines that often separate people.

From a young age, she reflected on how surnames become markers of caste, creed and social positioning, labels that speak even before a person does.

She was never marginalised because of her surname. Yet one question stayed with her.

What if one could simply be Hindustani?

Years later, she gave form to that question through a quiet but decisive act. Raseshvari legally adopted Hindustani as her surname, without announcement, expectation or agenda.

“I never thought it would draw attention,” she has said. “I just felt called to be Hindustani, nothing more, nothing less.”

In a society where surnames often define identity before character is known, her choice became a subtle yet powerful reminder that unity may sometimes begin not by asserting new identities, but by letting go of old divisions.

A Practice Built on Energy, Not Labels

Today, Raseshvari Hindustani is recognised as the “Miracle Lady” for her work in energy transformation and conscious living. With over 27 years of deep spiritual immersion and more than 15 years of experience working with energy, her work has reached people across India and abroad. Those who have experienced her work often report immediate shifts.

She does not identify as a healer. Her work rests on a simple truth: when energy shifts, life shifts.

Those who experience her sessions often speak of immediate inner settling. Mental noise softens. Emotional charge eases. A sense of grounded steadiness returns. Many describe changes that occur without prolonged struggle, leaving behind balance and ease.

Her work today reaches people across India and abroad, including Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai and South Africa, largely through personal recommendation. It has found particular resonance among founders, entrepreneurs and leaders navigating pressure and responsibility.

Community, Pause and a Strong Return

Earlier in her journey, Raseshvari founded MOMS (Multitasking Outstanding Mother Space), a pan-India collective of women, primarily mothers, from diverse backgrounds. The community focused on emotional, financial and spiritual empowerment, creating strength without hierarchy or judgment.

In 2022, a sudden health collapse brought her public work to a halt. A three-year pause followed, away from noise, momentum and expectation. She withdrew quietly near Vrindavan.

When she returned after three years, she returned quietly but powerfully. And the impact spoke for itself.

A Distinct Presence in Leadership Spaces

Today, Raseshvari is invited to educational institutions and leadership forums for conversations around stress, decision-making and conscious living. She does not motivate in the conventional sense. Instead, she demonstrates through presence and lived experience how awareness and energetic alignment can restore balance, even in high-pressure environments.

She often leaves audiences with a line that reflects her own life philosophy.

“Dare to dream. If you can dream it, you can have it. Nothing is impossible.”

Remembering the Unsung

On Republic Day, as the nation honours its constitutional spirit, Raseshvari Hindustani’s journey offers a quiet truth. Nation-building does not always happen on public stages.

Some contributions are made through personal choices. Through lived integrity. Through the courage to stand beyond labels, without asking to be seen.

She did not try to become a symbol of unity. She simply lived it.

And sometimes, that is the most powerful statement of all.
Proud of this unsung hero of our nation. Salute to her journey.
