India’s much-awaited annual cultural celebration — the 67th Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2025 — is set to take place from 2nd to 29th November 2025 across 24 cities nationwide, bringing together some of the most acclaimed artists from Hindustani, Carnatic, and folk traditions.

Organised by Prasar Bharati in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Sammelan continues its legacy since 1954 as one of India’s most prestigious musical platforms, promoting the country’s classical and folk heritage.

After a brief pause due to the pandemic, this year’s edition returns with renewed enthusiasm. Each venue will host two concerts — one dedicated to Indian Classical Music (Vocal/Instrumental) and another to Light/Folk Music. Panaji and Shillong will feature exclusive Western Classical presentations, highlighting India’s regional musical diversity.

The Opening Day Concerts will take place on 2nd November in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, followed by performances across cities including Udaipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Cuttack, Pune, Panaji, Kolkata, Tiruchirappalli, Bhopal, Varanasi, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Mysore, Ahmedabad, Shillong, Patna, Dharwad, Hyderabad, and Jalandhar.

Entry to all concerts will be free, with invitation cards available at respective Akashvani stations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Speaking about the event, Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, said, “After the COVID-19 break, the Sammelan returns with fresh vigour to celebrate India’s timeless musical heritage and its artists.”

The performances will be broadcast nationwide on the Akashvani Network from 26th December 2025 to 23rd January 2026, daily from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. They will also be available on Raagam Channel (DTH), DD Bharati, Raagam YouTube Channel, WAVES OTT Platform, and the NewsOnAIR App.

The 67th edition marks yet another milestone in Akashvani’s journey to preserve and popularize India’s diverse musical traditions, fostering cultural unity through the language of music.
