New Delhi, 16 October 2025: India and Australia strengthened their energy partnership during the 5th India-Australia Energy Dialogue held in New Delhi today. The meeting was co-chaired by Manohar Lal, Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, and Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Commonwealth Government of Australia.
The Indian delegation, representing the Ministries of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mines, and Coal, presented detailed progress reports and future pathways for cooperation under the respective Joint Working Groups established prior to the dialogue.

Discussions centered on global energy transition towards net-zero emissions, practical collaboration, promotion of energy efficiency, and enabling technologies. Both sides highlighted the strategic role of green hydrogen in future energy systems and reaffirmed their commitment to being reliable and trusted trading partners for energy resources.
The dialogue also emphasized the importance of diversified, secure, and resilient energy supply chains. The ministers acknowledged that the India-Australia partnership continues to play a crucial role in developing sustainable, robust, and secure energy systems across the Indo-Pacific region, contributing to energy security and economic growth for both nations.
The 5th Energy Dialogue reflects the shared vision of India and Australia to accelerate clean energy adoption, strengthen bilateral trade in energy resources, and support global efforts towards sustainable development and climate resilience.
