New Delhi, 3 October 2025– On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great sage, Adi Kavi, and creator of the Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki, the Delhi Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will organise a special programme on 7 October. This event will be held at the Delhi Secretariat and organised by the Department of Social Welfare.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh stated that Maharishi Valmiki was not only an immortal poet of Indian literature but also a symbol of equality, justice, and humanity in society. The special programme will highlight the life and works of Maharishi Valmiki and pay a heartfelt tribute to his contribution to society.

The Chief Minister and the Social Welfare Minister stated that the Delhi Government is committed to the upliftment of the Dalit community, as well as to education, equal opportunities, and social justice. They further said that Maharishi Valmiki’s teachings continue to strengthen the spirit of equality, respect, and dignity in society today. They added that this programme will not only serve as an occasion to remember the ideals of Maharishi Valmiki but also stand as a symbol of the government’s deep reverence and respect towards the Dalit community.
