ONE ILLICIT LIQUOR SELLER (CCL) APPREHENDED BY THE TEAM OF SPECIAL STAFF/SWD

ONE HONDA CITY CAR USED IN TRANSPORTATION OF ILLICIT LIQUOR ALSO CONFISCATED

New Delhi – A team of Special Staff, South West District apprehended one CCL aged 17 years indulged in illicit liquor trade. With his apprehension, total 66 boxes/cartons of illicit liquor marked for sale in Haryana only were recovered and one Honda City car used in transportation of illicit liquor was also confiscated.

INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION:

To curb the sale, supply & storage of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of South West District, the team of Special Staff/SWD was tasked to take strict action against bootleggers/illicit liquor suppliers. The team actively developed intelligence and worked on reliable sources.

In the intervening night of 22–23.08.2025, specific information was received regarding a Honda City car transporting illicit liquor from Gurugram towards South West District and adjoining areas of Delhi. Accordingly, a dedicated team comprising ASI Manoj, HC Satpal, HC Dharam Raj, HC Jag Parvesh, HC Sanjay, HC Vinay, Ct. Ashutosh, Ct. Mahavir, Ct. Suraj, Ct. Sanjay and W/Ct. Nirmala was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Vijay Baliyan, I/C Special Staff/SW and under the close supervision of Sh. Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, ACP/Operations to nab the accused. Acting promptly, the team laid a trap near Kishangarh and on the instance of the informer, intercepted a Honda City car. The driver was apprehended and on checking, 66 boxes of illicit liquor labeled “For Sale in Haryana Only” were recovered. The recovered liquor and vehicle used in transportation were seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 241/2025, u/s 33/52/58 Delhi Excise Act was registered at PS Kishangarh, Delhi.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE OF ACCUSED:

During interrogation, the apprehended CCL, age 17 years revealed that his late father Kamal, R/o, Delhi, was earlier involved in illicit liquor trade. After his father’s demise about three months back, he continued the trade with the help of his mother, using his father’s Honda City car. He used to collect consignments from Faridabad and sell them illegally in Aali Vihar, Sarita Vihar and nearby areas. Since the apprehended person is a juvenile, Section 78 JJ Act has been invoked. The role of his mother is also under investigation.

RECOVERY:

1. 66 Boxes/Cartons of illicit liquor for sale in Haryana only.

2. One Honda City car used in transportation of illicit liquor.
