‘Mahakumbh 2025 – Golden India’: UP’s tableau showcased ‘Heritage & Development’

Uttar Pradesh tableau bags first prize in Republic Day parade

New Delhi, January 30: Uttar Pradesh’s tableau secured the first position in the Republic Day parade, receiving top honors for its grand depiction of “Mahakumbh 2025 – Golden India: Heritage and Development.” At an award ceremony held at Rashtriya Rangshala in New Delhi, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth presented the trophy and citation to Uttar Pradesh’s tableau for achieving this remarkable feat.

This year, Uttar Pradesh’s tableau at the Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path was centered around ‘Mahakumbh 2025’, an event revered not only in India but across the world as “an intangible cultural heritage of humanity”.

The tableau beautifully depicted the divine essence of Mahakumbh, held at the confluence of the sacred Ganga, the uninterrupted Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati in Prayagraj—the largest human gathering on earth.

Mahakumbh 2025, the most significant event of the year, represents a fusion of spirituality, cultural heritage, infrastructure development, and digital progress. This essence was vividly captured in the tableau.

At the front of the tableau stood a magnificent replica of the ‘Amrit Kalash,’ with the sacred Amritdhara (nectar stream) flowing forward. The depiction of sages and saints performing Shankhnaad, Achman, and Sadhna, alongside devotees taking a holy dip at the Sangam, vividly captured the spiritual essence of Mahakumbh. The tableau also showcased the global significance of this grand event, which draws millions of devotees and visitors from around the world.

The trailer panel of the tableau artistically showcased akhadas and devotees proceeding for the Amrit (royal) bath through murals and LED screens. The trailer platform depicted the mythological tale of Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), reinforcing the historical and spiritual significance of Mahakumbh.

Additionally, the rear section of the tableau illustrated the 14 divine gems (ratnas) that emerged from Samudra Manthan, further emphasizing the event’s deep-rooted mythology.

The tableau also depicted the technological advancements, management, and digitalization being implemented for Mahakumbh 2025. A prominent feature was the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), a state-of-the-art facility ensuring security and effective crowd management at the grand event.

The tableau also broadcasted the procession of akhadas proceeding for the Mahakumbh festival bath via LED screens, providing a glimpse into the vibrant and well-organized spiritual gathering.
