Punjab, July 30, 2024 — The Jammu Tawi-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express, en route from Jammu to Jodhpur, was halted at Kasu Beghu station in Firozpur, Punjab, following a bomb threat received by authorities. The threat prompted immediate action from security forces, including the police and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The threat was reported via the Rail Madad app, which allows passengers to file complaints and track their status in real-time. The call came from a mobile number registered in West Bengal. As a precaution, the train was stopped 10 kilometers from Ferozepur at Kasu Beghu station, and passengers were safely evacuated.
Emergency response units, including bomb squads, the fire brigade, and medical teams, have been dispatched to the scene. A thorough search operation is currently underway to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Senior police officials, including Randhir Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) in Ferozepur, have stated that the situation is under control.
