Workshop to protect against TB in collaboration with Artemis Hospital Gurugram

Gurugram 22 March, 2024– Deshhit Foundation in collaboration with Artemis Hospital Gurugram organized a workshop to prevent TB, in which awareness was created about the prevention and causes of TB. This event was organized to commemorate World TB Day under the theme Towards Victory in TB. In this workshop, Artemis Hospital’s Dr. Arun Chaudhary Kotaru, Dr. Dheeraj Batheja, Dr. Sheeba Biswal, Dr. Vivek Gupta, CSR Lead Dr. Sujata Soy, Jatin Singh, Dr. Keshav, District TB Officer, Dr. Nisha, Dr. Sandeep, Primary Health Center, Kasan, Dr. Praveen UPHC, Manesar, Asha were present.

District TB Officer Dr. Keshav said that any person having cough for more than two weeks, continuous fever, night sweats and weight gain etc. can be symptoms of TB disease. Free facilities are being provided to such people. For these facilities, free microscopy and X-ray as well as TB medicines are available in the health centres. The government is also providing financial assistance of Rs 500 per month to TB patients for 6 months, so that the patient can take proper dosage. He appreciated the efforts being made by Artemis Hospital Gurugram. He assured all support from his side to Artemis Hospital Gurugram.

Dr. Arun Chaudhary Kotaru of Artemis Hospital said that World Tuberculosis Day was observed on March 24 to spread awareness about the harmful infectious disease TB, its social and economic consequences and to accelerate efforts to end the TB epidemic globally. goes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 10.6 million people suffered from TB in 2021 and 1.6 million died. On the other hand, global efforts to eliminate the disease since 2000 have saved 74 million lives. We all need to work together in this direction.

Sanjit Kumar Singh, manager of Deshhit Foundation, said that Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by a slow-growing bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB usually resides in the lungs but can occur in any part of the body. Only some people who are infected with TB become sick with TB disease. People are being made aware to protect themselves from these.
