Faridabad: In compliance with the orders of Police Commissioner Satyendra Kumar Gupta and under the guidance of DCP Traffic Jasleen Kaur, the Road Safety Team and Community Policing organized an awareness program at Imperial Auto Limited with the help of the company’s management and safety officer, retired Inspector Surender Kaushik. This event was part of the Road Safety Week, aimed at raising awareness among approximately 300 workers.
During the program, many important topics were discussed in detail. Subey Singh and Traffic Tau from the Road Safety team emphasized the need to follow traffic rules, use helmets, and seat belts. They also stressed the importance of avoiding wrong-side driving and making Faridabad accident-free. The workers were urged to take a pledge to follow traffic rules and prevent road accidents. They were also motivated to assist injured individuals by taking them to the hospital during the “Golden Hour” and were informed about the reward of Rs 5000 for such help. Information about dialing 112 and using the India 112 app for police assistance was also shared. Community Policing In-charge, Inspector Sunita, discussed the use and importance of the Trip Monitoring System. She provided information about safety services available for women, such as the “Durga Shakti” team offering night-time safety escort services, and other police efforts to empower women. Workers were educated about their moral responsibilities towards society. Fitness coach Lokesh Rajput inspired the workers to speak out against crime caused by substance abuse and encouraged them to contribute to making society crime-free.
Sub-Inspector Surender provided information about the different types of cybercrime and ways to protect oneself. He explained how to file complaints about cybercrimes through the Cyber Crime Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) and the helpline number 1930. Workers were also educated about the importance of securing their mobile numbers and personal information. Workers were also made aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse and were encouraged to quit. Information about the Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau helpline (90508-91508) was shared.
The primary goal of this program was to inspire the workers to be aware of their rights, adopt safety measures, and bring about positive change in society. The company’s management, including Manoj Batra (Vice President – HR and Admin), Hemendra Chaudhary (Plant Head), Himanshu Maheshwari (HR Head), Neha Sinha, and Safety Officer Retired Inspector Surender Kaushik, along with all the participants, pledged to support and cooperate with the police’s initiatives.
