Traffic Police Awarded for Efficient Duty in Kanwar Yatra; Heavy Vehicles Flouting No Entry Rules Fined

Faridabad August 3 2024 : The Kanwar Yatra began on July 22 in Shravan month and concluded on August 2 with the festival of Maha Shivaratri. Functioning of the Yatra by day and night was managed without any hurdle by traffic personnel. Their hard work has been acknowledged by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Usha, by giving appreciation certificates to officers who performed outstanding duties.

The traffic police issued advisories mentioning the prohibition of entry/movement of heavy vehicles in Faridabad from August 1 to 2 up till 2:00 PM during the Kanwar Yatra. However, some drivers flouted these advisories. The traffic police acted against these violations and issued challans to 79 heavy vehicles for defying the no-entry restrictions. Fines amounting to Rs 7,90,000 have been imposed on these vehicles.
