Chandigarh: Haryana Police have dismantled a cyber fraud ring that swindled people through a trading app. The team led by Inspector Naveen Kumar from the Palwal Cyber Crime Police Station arrested two individuals involved in defrauding people using a fake Tiranga trading app. Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur congratulated the Palwal police team on this achievement and encouraged them to continue their excellent work.
Providing details, Palwal Superintendent of Police Dr. Anshu Singla mentioned that the police have been actively targeting criminals and tightening the noose around them. She explained that cyber criminals are employing various methods to deceive people. The Palwal police are diligently working to identify such cyber criminals and fake mobile apps.
On June 11, 2024, Head Constable Devi Singh received information about a fake gaming app, Tiranga, which was being used for color trading to lure and defraud young people of crores of rupees. This app, operated by individuals abroad, aimed to scam large sums of money from people in India. Yash Kukreja and Kuldeep from Palwal were running this fraudulent app. They were influential figures on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram, with thousands of followers.
Acting on the tip-off, a team comprising Head Constable Devi Singh and ASI Sandeep Singh apprehended the two fraudsters from Deen Dayal Park. Upon checking their phones, videos related to Tiranga App/Color Trading were found. The police registered a case against the accused under IPC sections 406, 420, and 120B.
*Seizures:*
1. *Yash Kukreja (20 years old):*
– Items recovered: An Apple MacBook, two mobile phones, a wristwatch, two metro train cards, a Starbucks card, a GameZone card, five different bank ATM cards, and ₹5 lakh in cash.
2. *Kuldeep (19 years old):*
– Items recovered: Eight mobile phones, a power bank, an Apple iPad, a currency counting machine, five mobile chargers, two laptop chargers, two shooting mics, five different bank ATM cards, a metro train card, a Titan watch, two gold-plated chains, a gold-plated ring, a gold-plated bracelet, a gold-plated earring, and fake notes totaling ₹97,200 in various denominations.
*Modus Operandi:*
– During interrogation, it was revealed that Yash and Kuldeep used their social media platforms to promote the fake Tiranga gambling app. They deceived people by posting misleading photos, videos, and hashtags, encouraging them to register on the app. The earnings of the victims were funneled to the app’s operators abroad, with Yash and Kuldeep receiving a share of the profits for their promotional efforts.

– SP Dr. Anshu Singla praised Inspector Naveen Kumar and his team for uncovering this cyber fraud and announced a cash reward and commendation for their exemplary work.

– SP Dr. Anshu Singla urged the public not to fall for the allure of gaming apps, emphasizing that there are no shortcuts to making money. She warned that pursuing quick wealth could lead to becoming a victim of cyber fraud.
