Meerpet– A shocking case of road rage has emerged from Meerpet, where a middle-aged man was allegedly dragged on the bonnet of a car for nearly 2 kilometres following a heated argument over a road indicator. The incident took place on the night of May 1 and came to light after a disturbing video surfaced online showing the man clinging to the moving vehicle.
According to police, the victim was travelling on a two-wheeler with his son, who was riding the bike, when a car moving in the same direction got into an argument with them. The dispute reportedly began after the bike rider indicated a U-turn nearly 500 metres in advance, which led to a confrontation with the car driver. What started as a verbal exchange quickly escalated, with the driver allegedly grabbing the son by his hair and continuing to drive, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.
In an attempt to stop the situation, the father jumped onto the bonnet of the moving car. However, instead of halting, the driver continued driving for nearly 2 km, dragging the man along the route. The vehicle was eventually stopped near Balapur, after which the accused fled the scene.
The victim later told mediapersons that the car had initially hit their bike from behind and the situation spiralled out of control soon after. He also stated that he climbed onto the bonnet to force the driver to stop and protect his injured son.
Following the incident, a complaint was lodged at the local police station, and a case has been registered against the unidentified driver. Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify and apprehend the accused.
