New Delhi, Feb 27 2025:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described Maha Kumbh as a “grand yajna” of unity, stating, “This unforgettable spectacle of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat transformed into a magnificent festival of self-confidence.”
His remarks came following the conclusion of the world’s largest spiritual gathering, Maha Kumbh 2025, on February 26, marked by the final holy dip on Mahashivratri.
Over the last 45 days, more than 650 million devotees participated in the sacred bathing ritual at Prayagraj.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed, “The way 140 crore Indians came together at the Maha Kumbh of unity in Prayagraj over 45 days, celebrating this single festival, is truly overwhelming.”
“People from all sections and regions of society united in this Maha Kumbh. This extraordinary display of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat became a grand festival of self-confidence for crores of Indians,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister extended his wishes for this “unbroken stream of unity” among citizens to continue and praised the collective efforts that made Maha Kumbh a resounding success.
“Inspired by the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of the people in making this Maha Kumbh of unity a success, I will visit Shri Somnath, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas. There, I will offer my Sankalp Pushp as a symbol of devotion and pray for the well-being of every Indian. I hope this enduring spirit of unity among citizens continues to flourish,” he added.
Meanwhile, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Prayagraj Junction, where he met railway officials and commended them for their exemplary service during the Maha Kumbh.
Addressing the media, he stated that over 16,000 trains were deployed for the event, facilitating the travel of approximately 4.5 crore passengers in and out of Prayagraj
