Rohtak, May 3, 2026: The second convocation ceremony of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts is set to be held today, with elaborate security and administrative arrangements in place following high level inspections by district officials.

District Commissioner Sachin Gupta and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rajpurohit reviewed the preparations at the university campus ahead of the event and held detailed discussions with university authorities and various departmental officials to ensure smooth conduct of the ceremony.

During the inspection, Vice Chancellor Dr Amit Arya briefed the officials about the full schedule of the convocation, including seating arrangements, stage protocol, and logistical planning for guests and students.

The officials also examined entry and exit routes, parking facilities, and overall crowd management systems, issuing directions to strengthen coordination among departments. A review meeting was also held at the university guest house where preparedness was assessed in detail.

Authorities confirmed that a fully air conditioned and safety compliant pandal has been set up in view of weather conditions, with strict instructions issued to ensure that no lapses occur during the programme.

Officials from multiple departments including municipal corporation, electricity, health, education, and HSVP were present during the inspection. Senior officers such as Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar and Sub Divisional Magistrate Ashish Sharma also participated in the review process.

Security arrangements have been tightened and entry into the campus has been clearly divided through designated gates to manage the flow of visitors and ensure safety.

VIP and VVIP dignitaries will enter through Gate Number 1, while students, guardians, and other attendees will use Gate Number 2 for access to the venue.

The convocation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 am and will be presided over by Haryana Governor and University Chancellor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh, who will be accompanied by the First Lady of Haryana, Mitra Ghosh.

State Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda is also expected to attend the ceremony along with vice chancellors from several universities across Haryana.

A total of 760 students will receive degrees during the event, including 114 postgraduate and 646 undergraduate students across various disciplines.Among them, 35 meritorious students will be awarded gold medals in recognition of academic excellence.

Degree distribution will cover programmes such as architecture, design, visual arts, mass communication, fine arts, film studies, and related creative fields.University officials have also arranged a dedicated reception counter for graduating students to collect their certificates without inconvenience.

A separate photo zone has been created to allow students and their families to capture official convocation photographs.Authorities stated that rehearsal and mock drills were conducted on Sunday to ensure seamless execution of the event.

Officials have instructed all departments to maintain strict coordination and high standards of discipline throughout the ceremony, stressing that any negligence will not be tolerated.
