New Delhi- Prasar Bharati, India’s Public Service Broadcaster, has made a significant appeal to all newspapers, periodicals, and TV channels operating across the country, urging them to register on its dedicated newswire platform — Prasar Bharati Shared Audio Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination (PB-SHABD). The platform enables registered media entities to access a rich repository of multimedia news content, including text, audio, and video formats, free of cost.

Launched in March 2024, PB-SHABD is part of Prasar Bharati’s broader mission to enhance the credibility and accessibility of public information through modern and inclusive digital infrastructure. The platform currently offers more than 800 news stories daily, delivered in multiple Indian languages and spanning over 40 content categories, including politics, health, economy, environment, agriculture, culture, sports, and international affairs. The aim is to curb misinformation and ensure that news shared across the country is authentic, balanced, and rooted in verified facts.

The platform acts as a centralized content hub that bridges the gap between content creators and regional/local media outlets. In doing so, it not only supports journalism with verified sources but also enhances public awareness and trust in the media. This initiative is especially valuable for small and regional media houses that often lack the resources to maintain a dedicated news desk or field reporters.
