The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, 28 APR 2025: Being an International Airport, IGI Airport New Delhi, is one of the busiest Airport in India and thousands of people commute daily to take Domestic & International flights, due to which volume of Traffic is very high specifically at Terminal-I.
Shri Rajiv Rawal, IPS, DCP, Traffic, New Delhi Range visited IGI airport and observed heavy Traffic congestion occurred due to illegally parked vehicles such as Private Taxies/Cabs, TSRs and Private Vehicles. Owing to this, the wide road becomes shortened and commuters were not getting enough space to board & de-board and also walking on road becomes difficult for pedestrian. This also created traffic congestion at Terminal-I, IGI Airport, Delhi.
Analyzing the situation, DCP, Traffic, New Delhi Range has given direction to ACP/T/SWD and TI/IGI to clear congestion at Terminal-I at IGI Airport, New Delhi and make carriageway congestion free.
Accordingly, a special massive drive was carried out by Traffic staff of IGI Airport Circle at and around Terminal-I and during the drive appropriate legal action was taken against the violators/offendersand one of the busiest points has been made congestion free, which is evident from the photographs of before & after. Total 784 Challans under appropriate sections of law have been issued. Now, the drive would be conducted on regular basis
