AN AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED BY TEAM POLICE POST NS MANDI, PS MAHENDRA PARK

Delhi, 28 APR 2025: With the arrest of an auto-lifter, Satpal S/o Sh. Rampal, R/o Jahangir Puri, Delhi, Age – 34 years), the staff of NS Mandi, PS Mahendra Park, successfully recovered one country-made pistol and one stolen scooty from his possession.
The accused, Satpal, was found to be a habitual and active criminal, previously involved in a case of snatching. He admitted to committing crimes to earn easy money to sustain his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Brief Facts & Incident Details:-
Acting proactively to curb crime and criminal activities in the area, police staff were deployed for patrolling in sensitive zones. On 25.04.2025, HC Rahul, HC Sunil, HC Sumit, and Ct. Bhupender of NS Mandi, PS Mahendra Park, were patrolling near Fruit Mandi, Azadpur, New Delhi. During the patrol, they noticed a suspicious individual riding a scooty. Upon seeing the police personnel, the suspect made a U-turn and attempted to flee in the opposite direction. However, the police team acted swiftly and, displaying great alertness, managed to overpower and apprehend him.
Upon enquiry, he was identified as Satpal S/o Sh. Rampal, R/o Jahangir Puri, Delhi, Age – 34 years). A cursory search of the individual led to the recovery of one country-made pistol from his possession.
In this regard, a case was registered under FIR No. 261/25, dated 25.04.2025, under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and Section 106 of the BNS, and an investigation was initiated.
During his interrogation, Satpal confessed to committing other crimes at various locations. Verification revealed that the recovered scooty, registration number DL-9SAY-59XX, was reported stolen under e-FIR No. 000530/25, dated 06.01.2025, under Section 305(B) BNS at PS K.N. Katju Marg.
Accused Satpal was found to be a habitual and active criminal, previously involved in a case of snatching. He admitted to committing crimes to earn easy money to support his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Further efforts are underway to investigate his possible involvement in other criminal cases.
