New Delhi, March 9, 2025: Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal, inaugurated GRIDCON 2025 – The International Conference cum Exhibition at IICC, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. The event, organized by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) from March 9–11, 2025, is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Power and in association with CIGRE India.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power & New & Renewable Energy, Sh. Shripad Yesso Naik, along with senior professionals from the global power sector. Sh. R.K. Tyagi, CMD, POWERGRID, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Power, POWERGRID, and other power sector PSUs, were also present at the event.
GRIDCON 2025 serves as a key international platform for industry leaders, utilities, professionals, researchers, and academicians to explore advancements in renewable energy integration, grid resilience, asset management, and digital transformation. The conference will witness the participation of over 2,000 delegates, presentation of 150 technical papers, and showcase of 150 exhibition companies from more than 30 countries.
With the theme “Innovations in Grid Resilience,” the event will focus on cutting-edge technologies, modern infrastructure, and smart solutions aimed at transforming energy generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.
As of February 28, 2025, POWERGRID, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has significantly contributed to India’s power transmission sector. The company has successfully commissioned and is operating 281 substations, more than 1,79,594 circuit kilometers of transmission lines, and 5,46,461 MVA of transformation capacity.
With the adoption of advanced technological tools, automation, and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an impressive transmission system availability of over 99.81 percent.
GRIDCON 2025 is expected to drive key discussions and collaborations that will shape the future of the power sector, ensuring a stronger, more resilient, and sustainable energy network.
