Chandigarh, March 4,2025: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labor Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that “Instructions have been given to officials to strengthen the infrastructure in the energy department. In this regard, a new 800 MW power plant is being established in Yamunanagar, and approval has been granted for the project. Additionally, old electrical wires and low-load wires will also be replaced.” Furthermore, Sh. Vij said that “Along with replacing old buses, bus stands will also be improved and modernized.” He said that “Driving schools will be set up in every district, and officials have been instructed to set up automatic washing machine systems and automatic vehicle fitness checking systems in each district.” Similarly, instructions have also been given to establish air-conditioned hospitals for workers in every district to ensure they receive better healthcare facilities.
Sh. Vij was responding to questions asked by media persons after attending the pre-budget consultation meeting in Panchkula. He stated that to ensure the continuous operation of the 800 MW project, he has directed officials to ensure a constant availability of funds so that the project progresses without interruption.
Instructions to replace old transformers – Vij
He also mentioned that all old transformers across the state will be replaced as they frequently break down due to low capacity, causing power disruptions. He emphasized that transformer replacement will be carried out in a phased manner, but it is necessary to be completed. Similarly, officials have been directed to replace old electrical wires as electricity demand in households continues to increase, while the old wires have limited capacity. Wherever the load-bearing capacity of wires is insufficient, they will be replaced.
Directions to replace old buses and improve bus stands – Vij
The state Transport Minister, Sh. Vij said that many old buses in the Roadways fleet, including those recalled from NCR, have become outdated and will be replaced. Additionally, several bus stands are in poor condition and will be renovated. He specifically mentioned that Gurugram’s bus stand, despite being part of the “Millennium City,” is in a poor, functioning more like an open ground with just sheds. He recently inspected the Gurugram bus stand and acknowledged the need for improvement.
Driving schools will be set up in every district” – Vij
The Transport Minister said that he has instructed officials to set up driving schools in every district so that people, especially the youth, can understand all the rules and techniques of driving. This initiative aims to create aware and law-abiding drivers, ultimately reducing road accidents.

Similarly, he has also directed officials to install automatic vehicle washing machine systems in every district to ensure quick and efficient cleaning of vehicles. Additionally, instructions have been given to establish an automatic system for checking vehicle fitness in each district, and work on this initiative will begin soon, he added.
Suggestion to establish air conditioned hospitals in every district based on the number of laborers – Vij
Sh. Vij said that in ESI department, PHCs (Primary Health Centers) are lying vacant, and laborers are not benefiting from it as they mostly serve as referral centers. Therefore, he has suggested establishing hospitals in each district based on the number of laborers so they can receive adequate healthcare facilities.The Labor Minister mentioned that he has suggested setting up air-conditioned hospitals also for workers in every district to provide them with better healthcare facilities.
“Pre-budget consultation meetings are beneficial as allow people to express their views” – Vij
When asked about the two-day pre-budget consultation camp held in Panchkula, Sh. Vij said that “Such meetings are highly beneficial as they provide an opportunity for people to present their views, which the government can consider while formulating the budget.”
Regarding discussions on reducing debt during the pre-budget consultation, he mentioned that “This matter was raised, and we need to move forward while keeping all aspects in mind. The government has set a certain limit, and everything will be kept within that limit.”
“The opposition is completely sinking and has not yet elected its legislative party leader” – Vij
When asked about the upcoming Haryana Assembly Budget Session and the fact that the opposition has still not chosen its leader, he sarcastically remarked that “The opposition is completely sinking and has not yet managed to elect its legislative party leader. This itself shows the level of internal division within them, but that is their internal matter.”
