Development Prevails, Good Governance Triumphs”: PM Modi on BJP’s Historic Delhi Victory

New Delhi, Feb 8, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday celebrated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, calling it a testament to the people’s trust in development and good governance.

“Jana Shakti is paramount! Development wins, good governance triumphs. I bow to my dear sisters and brothers of Delhi for this resounding and historic mandate to @BJP4India. We are humbled and honored to receive these blessings,” PM Modi posted on social media platform X.

He further assured the people of Delhi that his government would leave “no stone unturned” in ensuring the capital’s overall development and making it a key contributor to a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). “It is our guarantee that we will work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for Delhi’s citizens and ensure the city plays a prime role in India’s growth,” he said.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP secured leads in 48 out of 70 seats, while the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was ahead in 22 constituencies. The Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi, failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive term.

Expressing gratitude to BJP workers, PM Modi praised their dedication and relentless efforts in securing the massive mandate. “I am very proud of all my BJP workers who worked day and night for this victory. Now, we will be even more committed to serving the people of Delhi,” he said.

The BJP has already clinched victories in five constituencies: Rekha Gupta (Shalimar Bagh), Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden), Chandan Kumar Choudhary (Sangam Vihar), Tilak Ram Gupta (Tri Nagar), and Umang Bajaj (Rajinder Nagar).

BJP National President J P Nadda also thanked the people of Delhi, emphasizing that the mandate was a reflection of the trust placed in PM Modi’s vision. “This historic mandate reflects the people’s trust in PM Narendra Modi’s vision for a brighter and more progressive future for Delhi,” Nadda stated.

He further added, “My deep gratitude to the people of Delhi for choosing integrity over corruption, truth over lies, and a government truly committed to their welfare.”

With this victory, the BJP is set to form a government in Delhi after 27 years, marking a historic political shift in the national capital.
