Priyanka Gandhi Breaks Silence as Congress Fails to Win a Single Seat in Delhi Elections

NEW DELHI, FEB 8, 2025: As the BJP is set to form the next government in Delhi, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra admitted that the election outcome was “very obvious.” The Congress party failed to secure a single lead in any of the 70 assembly seats, marking another major setback in the capital.

Speaking on the results, Priyanka said, “It was very obvious from all our meetings in Delhi that people wanted change. They voted for change. My congratulations to those who won. For the rest of us, it just means that we have to work harder, stay on the ground, and be responsive to people’s issues.” As of 1:45 pm on Saturday, the Election Commission of India showed BJP leading in 48 seats, while the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held onto 22 constituencies.

Priyanka’s husband, businessman Robert Vadra, also shared his views, stating he was “not surprised” by the results. “The citizens of Delhi were fed up with AAP. All the promises they made were not fulfilled—it was all just optics,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, CPI national general secretary D Raja commented on the performance of the INDIA bloc, urging Congress to “learn proper lessons” from the results. He stressed the need for better unity and coordination among secular democratic parties, particularly in seat-sharing talks. “BJP cannot claim it has won a massive victory in Delhi. It is because of disunity among secular democratic parties,” Raja stated.

With Congress drawing a blank and AAP facing a major loss, the Delhi election results signal a significant shift in the political landscape of the capital.
