NEET PG Round 3 Seat Allotment Result on January 25; MCC Updates Counselling Schedule

January, 21, 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced changes to the schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling. As part of the revised timetable, the result for the third round of seat allotment will be released on January 25, 2025. Candidates now have until January 22, 2025, to complete their registration process for this round.

In addition, candidates will have until 8 am on January 23 to complete their choice filling. The choice-locking window will open at 8 pm on January 22 and remain open until 8 am on January 23. After the announcement of the NEET PG round 3 seat allotment result, those shortlisted will need to report to their designated institutions between January 26 and February 3, 2025.

For candidates awaiting the stray vacancy round, the registration will commence on February 7, 2025.

The changes to the NEET PG counselling schedule come as a result of delays in the counselling process and other related issues. According to the MCC’s official notification, the extension was granted in response to requests from candidates, particularly after delays in some states and the late declaration of the round 2 result in Rajasthan. The committee acknowledged that many candidates had approached them for an extension of the counselling schedule and emphasized that the third round would be the final opportunity for seat upgrades.

The MCC clarified that the extended schedule for the PG counselling in 2024 has been approved by the competent authorities to ensure that all candidates have ample time to participate in the process. As per the revised schedule, the resignation window for candidates who have been allotted seats through state quotas and wish to resign their All India seats will remain open until 12:00 Noon on January 22, 2025. Candidates who choose to resign will forfeit their security deposit. The seats vacated by these candidates will be included in the seat matrix for round 3 and will be allocated according to merit and choice during this round.

Candidates are advised to keep checking the official MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in) for the most up-to-date information on the counselling process and seat allotment. The committee also reminded candidates to adhere to the deadlines for registration, choice filling, and reporting to institutions, as any delay could impact their participation in the counselling rounds.

This extension is expected to provide candidates with additional opportunities to secure a seat in their desired postgraduate medical course, ensuring that the process is completed fairly and efficiently for all applicants.
