Lucknow, January13, 2025: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended a warm welcome to millions of devotees, saints, mahatmas, kalpvasis, and visitors as the historic Maha Kumbh 2025 officially began in Prayagraj on Monday. With the first holy dip marking the commencement of this grand spiritual gathering, CM Yogi expressed his heartfelt wishes for the pilgrims partaking in this momentous event.
The Chief Minister highlighted the profound significance of Maha Kumbh, emphasizing that it serves as a beacon of India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. He described the event as a magnificent manifestation of the nation’s diverse yet unified cultural fabric, where people from all walks of life converge to seek spiritual fulfillment. The Maha Kumbh, he added, stands as a proud symbol of “unity in diversity,” a concept that is deeply rooted in the country’s traditions.
“This is not merely a religious gathering,” CM Yogi said, “but a global testament to the prestige and importance of Sanatan culture, one that showcases the world’s reverence for India’s ancient traditions and spiritual wisdom. It is a rare occasion that highlights India’s leadership in the world of spirituality, bringing people from across the globe to experience its divine essence.”
With the commencement of Maha Kumbh coinciding with the auspicious Paush Purnima, millions of devotees made their way to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers to take the holy dip. The event witnessed unparalleled fervor as the banks of Sangam became a vibrant stage for devotion, meditation, and prayers. The sacred waters of the Ganga are believed to cleanse the soul, and the Maha Kumbh serves as a transformative experience for both devotees and spiritual seekers from every corner of the world.
Speaking about the importance of the occasion, CM Yogi expressed his hope that all the wishes of those seeking spiritual enlightenment would be fulfilled through their participation in the holy rituals. “May all those who come here to seek blessings from Maa Ganga find their paths of peace and prosperity,” he said.
The Chief Minister also reassured that the Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive and comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and divine experience for all those attending the Kumbh. “The focus is on providing top-notch facilities in every aspect, including cleanliness, security, healthcare, traffic management, and accommodation,” he stated. These measures are being implemented to ensure that the grand event takes place in a safe, organized, and spiritually uplifting environment.
CM Yogi also urged people to join in the celebration of the illustrious Sanatan culture, which is at the heart of Maha Kumbh. “Maha Kumbh is a celebration of our glorious tradition, a reflection of our eternal spiritual heritage,” he said. “I invite people from all walks of life, whether from India or abroad, to be a part of this unparalleled spiritual journey and witness the magic of unity, devotion, and faith that defines our culture.”
As the holy dip took place on Paush Purnima, pilgrims from across India, including states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and West Bengal, as well as international visitors, began arriving at the sacred city. This year’s Maha Kumbh is set to be a much grander and more spiritually fulfilling experience, with arrangements in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of every visitor.
The CM concluded his message with a call to the people of the world to embrace the divine grace of Maa Ganga: “May the blessings of Maa Ganga bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to each of your lives. Join us in celebrating this sacred tradition and experience the transformative power of Maha Kumbh.”
With this, the stage is set for a Maha Kumbh like no other, one that promises not only spiritual fulfillment but also a deep sense of cultural pride and global unity.
