Delhi Police Intensifies Foot Patrolling Ahead of Festive Season

Enhanced security measures rolled out in crowded areas to ensure safety and maintain law and order during festivities.

New Delhi: In preparation for the upcoming festive season, the Delhi Police has stepped up foot patrolling across the national capital to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. The enhanced security initiative focuses particularly on markets, congested zones, and areas that witness large public gatherings during festivals.

Senior officers are personally leading patrolling teams in their respective jurisdictions to ensure effective monitoring and coordination on the ground. The increased police presence aims to instil confidence among citizens, enhance community engagement, and act as a deterrent to potential criminal activities in crowded spaces.

In addition to intensified patrolling, the Delhi Police has rolled out multiple safety measures, including public announcements through PA systems in high-footfall areas, bus and picket checking drives, and verification exercises. Efforts have also been strengthened under the “Eyes and Ears” scheme to improve community policing through better coordination with residents, shopkeepers, and private security guards.

The police have urged citizens to remain alert, cooperate with law enforcement personnel, and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through emergency helplines.
