Kochi, April 22, 2026: The Malayalam film Achappa’s Album was unveiled at a grand premiere in Kochi, highlighting the National Film Development Corporation’s continued focus on promoting diverse and meaningful storytelling in Indian cinema.
The event, held ahead of the film’s theatrical release later this week, brought together key figures from the film fraternity along with senior officials from the corporation. The screening marked an important moment for the production, which explores emotional connections across generations through a creative narrative.
Speaking at the occasion, NFDC Managing Director Prakash Magdum said the film reflects the organisation’s commitment to encouraging unique cinematic voices rooted in Indian culture. He noted that stories with strong emotional depth and innovative concepts have the potential to connect with audiences across age groups.
The premiere saw the presence of the film’s creative team including director Deepti Sivan Pillay, writer Sanjeev Sivan and lead actors Priyanka Nair, Anjana Appukuttan and Sudhanshu Sanjeev Sivan. Other members of the cast and crew, including a child artist from the film, also attended the event.
The film revolves around the idea of revisiting the past and presents a narrative that combines imagination with relatable human emotions. It is scheduled for release across theatres in India on April 24, 2026.
