Patna: Acting on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena, the Patna Municipal Corporation’s Swachhta Awareness Team conducted a cleanliness awareness campaign at the College of Arts and Crafts, Patna to increase public participation in the Swachh Survey. The campaign was inaugurated by Principal Dr Rakhi Kumari and noted artist and social worker Dr Ajay Kumar Pandey.
In the presence of students and artists, participants pledged to actively contribute to keeping the city clean. PMC’s Swachhta Brand Ambassador and folk singer Dr Nitu Kumari Navgeet motivated the audience through cleanliness-themed folk songs. Principal Dr Rakhi Kumari said the institution is committed to the “Swachh Bharat, Swachh Patna” mission, adding that artists associated with the college have painted cleanliness murals across the city.

Artists also explained the use of blue and green dustbins and demonstrated how art and paintings can effectively spread public awareness. Dr Rakhi Kumari urged citizens to actively participate in the Swachh Survey to improve Patna’s ranking and help the city aim for the top position.

Addressing students, Dr Ajay Kumar Pandey stressed that cleanliness is essential for a healthy lifestyle, society, and families. During the programme, students joined Dr Nitu Kumari Navgeet in singing popular cleanliness songs such as “Ghar-Ghar Alakh Jagayenge, Swachh Patna Banayenge” and took a collective pledge for cleanliness.
Rajesh Keshari also performed awareness songs. Winners of a debate competition were felicitated by the Patna Municipal Corporation.
