New Delhi : Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, in the presence of senior officers of Delhi Police, today, flagged off the 55 newly inducted PCR Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPVs) and 156 refurbished Omni Motorcycles at Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi.
The induction of these vehicles has been undertaken to reduce police response time, particularly in remote and densely populated areas to improve visibility and to galvanize the overall functioning of PCR Unit. The upgraded fleet will bolster the operational readiness of the PCR Unit, ensuring swift and effective response to distress calls and fostering a more citizen-friendly policing environment across Delhi.

The allocation of these newly inducted PCR MPVs has been made to Dwarka, Outer North, South, South-West, Rohini, Outer, and South-East districts with the objective of augmenting police mobility, expanding area coverage, and enhancing the overall visibility and responsiveness of PCR units. In addition, the 156 refurbished Omni Motorcycles have been redeployed with the objective of enhancing police accessibility and presence in narrow lanes and congested localities. These motorcycles are expected to play a significant role in strengthening police visibility, improving response to street-level crimes, and ensuring quick intervention in high-footfall or sensitive zones.
With the addition of 55 PCR MPVs, the total strength of the PCR fleet has now increased from 802 to 857 vehicles, thereby reinforcing Delhi Police’s commitment to modernization, operational efficiency, and proactive public service delivery.

The Police Control Room (PCR) Unit of Delhi Police provides quick and effective police assistance to citizens in need or distress by the quickest means and within the minimum possible time. Serving as a vital field support unit, the PCR is entrusted with handling distress calls, maintaining law and order across the National Capital.
