Tragic Accident in Jhansi: Three Dead as Car Crashes into Truck

 Jhansi : In a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, three men lost their lives when their car collided with a truck parked on the roadside on the Jhansi-Lalitpur national highway. The incident occurred in the Babina area on Tuesday evening, January 21, as confirmed by local police.

Circle Officer (Sadar), Alok Kumar, stated that the accident happened around 6:30 pm near the Babina toll plaza. The car’s driver, in an attempt to save a puppy that suddenly appeared on the road, lost control of the vehicle. The car swerved and rammed into the stationary truck, leading to the fatal crash.

The victims were identified as Karan Vishwakarma, a resident of Siya village in the Chirgaon area of Jhansi district, and his two companions. Earlier that day, Karan had gotten engaged to a woman in Lalitpur, and the group was returning to Chirgaon after the engagement ceremony.

Eyewitnesses reported that the car was traveling at a high speed and the driver’s sudden maneuver to avoid the puppy caused the vehicle to veer off course. The collision was so severe that all three occupants were declared dead on the spot. Emergency responders and local police rushed to the scene and conducted preliminary investigations.

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to contact their families. The parked truck, which was stationary on the roadside without adequate warning signals or reflectors, has also been noted as a contributing factor to the accident. The police are investigating whether negligence on the part of the truck driver played a role in the mishap.

This accident highlights the dangers of sudden maneuvers on highways and the need for greater awareness about road safety. Circle Officer Alok Kumar advised drivers to remain vigilant and prioritize safety, especially on high-speed roads.

The Babina area has witnessed several accidents in the past, and authorities have been urged to enforce stricter regulations regarding parked vehicles on highways. Reflective markings and warning signs are essential to prevent such tragedies.
