A Nukkad Natak- Zimmedari Hai Ab Hamari जिम्मेदारी है अब हमारी – for Road Safety Awareness: A Step towards a Safer Tomorrow

New Delhi :On February 18, 2025, the Northern Range of Delhi Traffic Police organized a Nukkad Natak at Kingsway Camp Chowk, aiming to spread awareness about road safety. The event, which commenced at 4:00 PM, featured a captivating street play entitled ” जिम्मेदारी है अब हमारी, (Zimmedari Hai Ab Hamari)” produced by Mr. Rahul Khanna’s Education through Theater group. This initiative not only entertained but also provided vital insights into the importance of adhering to traffic rules, emphasizing the pressing need for personal responsibility among road users.
The theme of the street play, “Zimmedari Hai Ab Hamari,” resonated profoundly with the assembled crowd, drawing approximately 200 audience members who were engaged and moved by the performance. The play served as a poignant reminder of the potential dangers present on the roads, encouraging spectators to reflect on their behavior as they navigate traffic. Through its vivid storytelling and relatable scenarios, “Zimmedari Hai Ab Hamari” succeeded in imparting crucial lessons on safe commuting practices, highlighting that road safety is a shared responsibility.

DCP Traffic Northern Range Smt. Sandhya Swamy, ACP Traffic North West District Dheeraj Narrang, and Traffic Inspector Model Town Sh. Deepak Sharma alongwith Traffic Staff of Model Town Circle was also present. After the Nukkad Natak concluded, DCP Traffic Northern Range, Mrs. Sandhya Swamy, urged all spectators to pledge their obedience to traffic rules. The spectators then repeated the pledge in unison. Meanwhile, Mr. Rahul Khanna introduced a new slogan through his Nukkad Natak performance: “Zero deaths from accidents.

” During her address, DCP Mrs. Swamy emphasized the importance of being a responsible citizen and appealed to the audience to assist those injured in accidents. She also informed them that, under the new law, no one can be forced to testify or face unnecessary police harassment if they help accident victims or call emergency services.
In addition to the live performance, the event included the distribution of pamphlets detailing essential road safety rules and regulations.
