“Know Your Nation” 5th 6-Day Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program Inaugurated

Former Haryana Minister Seema Trikha and Faridabad SDM Shikha Welcome Kashmiri Youth

Faridabad, 8th January , 2024- The 5th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program is being organized by the Nehru Youth Centre Faridabad, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, at the Satyug Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology in district Faridabad. The program was inaugurated by former Haryana Minister Seema Trikha and Faridabad SDM Shikha, who jointly lit the lamp to mark the beginning of the event.

In her address, former Minister Seema Trikha emphasized that today’s youth will shape the future of India. She stated that it is essential to connect the youth with the country’s culture and heritage. She mentioned that the youth participating in the “Know Your Nation” program would surely become more aware and contribute to the construction of a developed India by fulfilling their responsibilities as nation-builders. She encouraged the youth to recognize the opportunities around them and strive for success.

SDM Shikha, in her speech, highlighted that the greatest asset of our country is its youth, who need proper guidance and direction. She mentioned that the Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program offers these young participants an opportunity to understand India’s culture and heritage closely.

District Youth Officer Priyanka shared that through the “Know Your Nation” program, 132 youth from various districts of Kashmir have been selected to participate in the Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program. Over the course of six days, they will explore the country’s cultural heritage and renew their commitment to contributing to the achievement of a developed India. This program is being conducted with the support of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The inauguration ceremony featured cultural performances by teams from Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Srinagar, Pulwama, Budgam, along with performances from the Haryana Dance Team and ITI Cultural Team. Stalls showcasing cultural food, clothing, and other items were set up, promoting awareness about indigenous products. Gita from Haryana and Kashmiri youth also participated in spreading awareness about local traditions and products.

Following the performances, experts in various fields engaged the youth in meaningful dialogues. Dr. Pradeep Dhimri addressed topics such as patriotism, nation-building, the issues of the Kashmir Valley, and the role of youth. A.K. Puri led discussions on language knowledge and drug de-addiction. These sessions aimed to raise awareness among the youth.

The event was organized with the participation of Sunil Sachdeva, Chairman of the Engineering College, Narnaul District Youth Officer Nityanand, Karishma, Harish Pelak, Himanshu, Gayatri, Kirpan, Pushpendra Thakur, Devanand, and the entire staff of Satyug Darshan Institute.
