Faridabad, August 3, 2024 : Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation, in partnership with the All India Forum of MSME (AIFOM), conducted a Mega Tree Plantation Drive and Sapling Distribution Drive at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) on Saturday. During the event, approximately 5,000 saplings were distributed to all faculty members and staff on campus. Additionally, institution officials, along with AIFOM representatives, planted trees along Surajkund Road in Faridabad.
This special initiative by Manav Rachna aims to increase greenery in the city during the monsoon season. Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, DG MREI, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mr. S.S. Kapoor, National President of AIFOM, and Mr. Anil Kumar Chaudhary, National General Secretary of AIFOM, attended as distinguished guests. About 100 Java Plum and Cassia fistula saplings were planted along Surajkund Road. The sapling distribution drive continued throughout the day on campus and included a variety of plants such as lemon, guava, Indian bael, banana, varieties of jasmine, hibiscus, and plumeria.
Dr. D.P. Singh, Senior Manager of MREI’s Horticulture Department, Dr. Vaishali Mathur, Senior Program Manager of Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation, and AIFOM representatives including Mr. Rajiv Lal, Mr. Prabhakar Shukla, Mr. D.K. Mishra, Mr. V.K. Gupta, Mr. S.C. Garg, and Umesh Gulati were present at the event.
Dr. N.C. Wadhwa said, “The Prime Minister of India has inspired citizens to plant trees through the ‘One Tree, One Mother’ campaign. Our institution has also participated in this initiative. The goal is to plant as many trees as possible in the city during the monsoon season and increase the green cover.”
Mr. S.S. Kapoor and Mr. Anil Chaudhary congratulated Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation for this initiative, stating, “With the launch of the tree plantation drive, we aim to plant 10,000 trees in collaboration with the institution. In the coming days, we will plant trees in city parks, rural areas, and along roadsides with the support of NGOs, institutions, RWAs, and panchayat members. AIFOM will continue to participate in such initiatives with Manav Rachna in the future.”
Mega Health Check-up Camp for Employees
Additionally, Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation organized a mega health check-up and mammography camp on campus. The camp offered dental check-ups, nutrition and dietetics consultations, physiotherapy, eye examinations, mental health counseling, BP and sugar tests, BMI measurements, and mammography screenings. Female employees also benefited from gynecologist consultations.
